Banking hours: Monday-Friday: 09:00 am - 1:00 pm        
In the city center of Linz you may find further banks.
Every bank offers ATMs (Bankomat) which can mostly be accessed outside the banking hours.

Power and Electrical Plugs

Electrical Power: 230V AC, 50Hz
Austrian plugs have two round pins plus two flat contact areas on the top and bottom side of the plug.
You need an adapter for e.g. US, UK or French plugs.

The opening hours of the shops in Linz vary.
Close to the venue there is a small shopping center with a supermarket (Winkler Markt), Altenberger Straße 40
Opening hours: Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 6:30 pm, Saturday 7:30 am - 6:00 pm


Smoking areas

Smoking is not allowed in public areas e.g. airports, train stations, universities, shops, restaurants, bars. Smoking at JKU is only allowed outside the university buildings.


Time Zone

The time zone in Austria in July is CEST - Central European Summer Time = UTC/GMT +2 hours.



Participants from the EU, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Japan etc. do not need a visa for travelling to Austria.
Participants from e.g. Russian Federation, India, Peoples Republic of China, Argentina, etc. have to apply for a Visa. Please contact the Austrian Embassy or an Austrian Consulate in your country. Please note: It may take you several weeks to several months to apply for and receive your visa. Austria has a temperate continental climate.
In July the medium high temperatures are around 24°C (75°F), within a range from 17°C (62°F) when raining up to 36°C (97°F). The low temperatures don’t fall below 14°(57°F).
